This 14 day expedition combines overland adventure, horseback trekking, and authentic cultural immersion in Mongolia’s northern taiga. Traveling by car from Ulaanbaatar through Bulgan and Murun to Ulaan-Uul and Ar Bosgyn Am, the route then shifts to horseback, following forested trails into the remote wilderness of Zuulun.
In Zuulun, travelers witness a powerful shamanic ceremony performed in its ancestral homeland, meet Tsaatan reindeer herders, and experience their unique way of life with reindeer in the taiga. Nights are spent in a mix of tented camps under the stars and comfortable hotels in towns such as Murun, Khatgal, Bulgan, and Ulaanbaatar.
