The Altraga & Ulaan Taiga Expedition is a 14 day journey that blends overland travel, horseback trekking, and spiritual discovery. Beginning in Ulaanbaatar, the route passes through Bulgan and Murun, where travelers witness authentic nomadic life before reaching Altraga Valley, the starting point for the horseback expedition.
From Altraga Valley, riders venture deep into the Ulaan Taiga Protected Area, covering 25–30 km per day through wild taiga forests, crystal rivers, and alpine valleys. Along the way, travelers meet herding families, live in tents under the stars, and immerse themselves in an untouched natural world.
A highlight of the expedition is the rare opportunity to witness an authentic shamanic ceremony held in its ancestral homeland of Ulaan Taiga Protected Area an intimate encounter with Mongolia’s living spiritual tradition.
