Arriving in Ulaanbaatar marks the start of an extraordinary adventure, a deep journey into the heart of Mongolia’s untamed outdoor wilderness. The welcome dinner not only satisfies your appetite but also kicks off the rhythm of an Odyssean voyage and lays the foundation for the amazing experiences ahead.
As you head towards the small sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai, untouched nature opens up before you. Here, you may encounter a local herder family with a herd of camels, introducing you to the rare two-humped Bactrian camels. Riding these unique animals offers a cultural exchange that connects you with the nomadic way of life.
Continue your journey toward the ancient and sacred Övgön Monastery, which whispers tales of the past. Then head to the eco-camp at the gateway to the Eight Lakes Natural Protected Area, known as Naiman Nuur. Horseback riding in this pristine wilderness is like dancing with nature. The nomads guide you in the art of catching horses and help you bond with your chosen companion.
With every hoofbeat, you’ll pass through breathtaking landscapes of the Khangai Mountains and reach Shireet Lake—a peaceful sanctuary under Mongolia’s wide blue sky. Continue through Khalt, Bugat, Khaya, and Shana, and journey toward Khuis Lake, reflecting the endless wonder of this land. The Mongolian horse, a symbol of historic victory, becomes your loyal companion across this scenic tapestry.
Returning to the eco-camp, you will explore the slopes of forested hills and appreciate the beauty of the Mongolian steppe. The adventure reaches its peak at the majestic Orkhon Waterfall. Considered one of the highest in the country, the Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall delights you with its melodious flow as you rest in the nearby ger camp.
The tour concludes magnificently in the ancient capital of the Great Mongol Empire—Karakorum. The Karakorum Museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery echo the rhythms of hoofbeats as you return to Ulaanbaatar, standing as silent witnesses to the past. Here, where the journey began, bid farewell to the land adorned with the Eternal Blue Sky.
This is more than just horseback riding—it’s an exploration of Mongolia’s untold spiritual unity and the natural beauty echoed by the hoofbeats of history. As you say goodbye to the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky, the memory of this horseback journey will remain in your heart, cherished forever and never for rent.
