The Khankh Burenkhaan Expedition is a 13 day journey into the northern frontier of Mongolia, where shamanic traditions, reindeer herding culture, and pristine landscapes converge. Beginning in Ulaanbaatar, the route travels by car through Bulgan and Murun to the crystal waters of Khuvsgul Lake, before reaching the remote border village of Khankh.
From Khankh, the adventure continues on horseback into the taiga, where travelers witness the authentic lifestyle of herders, stay with nomadic families, and explore the sacred Munkh Saridag mountains. A highlight of the expedition is the opportunity to observe a genuine shamanic ceremony in its ancestral homeland an intimate cultural experience rarely accessible to outsiders.
This expedition is not about staged performances or tourist entertainment. It is a journey into real Mongolian life, where untouched nature, ancestral spirituality, and nomadic resilience create an unforgettable connection to the spirit of the North.
